Rüdiger Schultz  (University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany)





Rüdiger Schultz is Professor for Discrete Mathematics and Optimization with the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Duisburg-Essen. Professor Schultz received his Diploma and PhD degrees in Mathematics from Humboldt-University Berlin. At the same university he was awarded the Venia Legendi in 1996. Before joining in 1998 as Full Professor (C4) the University of Duisburg-Essen (then Gerhard-Mercator University Duisburg) he was a Research Assistant with the Zuse-Center Berlin (ZIB) and an Associate Professor (C3) with the University of Leipzig. His research interests include optimization under uncertainty, combinatorial optimization, and industrial applications, the latter in particular in the power and gas industries. He has published more than 60 research papers and served on various program committees of conferences and editorial boards of research journals. Currently he is Area Editor for
Linear and Stochastic Optimization with Operations Research Letters and editorial board member with EURO Journal on Computational Optimization, Mathematical Methods of Operations Research, RAIRO Operations Research, Stochastic Programming E-Prints-Series, and Vietnam Journal of Mathematics.
